Basketball Update – 2025 Season
At Legion, we are always learning and improving to better support our athletes, building on their skills, strengthening their foundation, and challenging them to grow.
For the 2025 season, we made the decision to offer basketball through Lawrence Parks & Recreation (LPRD) under the Lawrence Legion name.
Why?
This gives our athletes one more season to sharpen their fundamentals, gain game knowledge, and we welcomed new players before transitioning fully into league play.
2025 Basketball Season Timeline
- Practices Begin: October (approx. 1 practices per week)
- First Game: November 2025
- Season Ends: December 2025

Registration for the 2025 Legion Basketball season is now closed.
Looking Ahead to 2026
- Registration for Legion basketball 2026 begin in August.
- Be sure to check our website for grade-specific Legion basketball registration details.
- It’s very likely that 3rd grade and up will transition into the league instead of LPRD. This change will introduce new registration processes, fees, uniforms, and more.
- Depending on athlete numbers, 2nd grade and younger may continue playing through LPRD.
